Boulder, Our nucleic-acid solution division, or NASD, is in Boulder. NASD produces DNA or RNA

sequences in decent quantities for its clients, it's one of only a few companies in the world that can

do so under the strict GMP standards. Ok what happened was since NASD was part of Agilent 2006,

IT at NASD is operated by their own and is never integrated with Agilent IT. It's not a crisis today, but

it's becoming a bottleneck since the NASD business is growing over years and IT infrastrucutre is not

catching up. That's why we're asked to come in to help. We're supposed to help them Tech refresh

Compute Services infrastructure (Server/Database/Storage and Bakcup) at Boulder site to modernize

infrastructure and enable more standard compute services. We'll move as much computer services

such as server maintenance, monitoring, anti-virus, back-up, problem resolution at Boulder site to

Agilent IT support model. The plan is a) migrate and consolidate Non-GMP standard business

applications to standard IT solutions. b) Setup CS Infrasructure at Boulder, including ESX cluster and

physical servers as necessary, NetApp Filer and DataDomain to accommodate the GMP and NASD

specific systems which need to remain local. We've been working to assess the site and migrate

some of their apps and data. The setup CS Infrasructure will in FY18 plan.

Now Fredirick, or project Apothecary. As I mentioned the demand for NASD’s services has increased

we nearly tripled our revenue in the last five years, and we expect continued growth for the next few

years. Boulder is the most densely compacted Agilent site we have visited. That’s why we’re

expanding the site. Last year we bought 20 acres of land in Frederick, a rural town about 30 minutes

east of Boulder. The short-term plan is to build a second manufacturing suite there, which would

double the capacity currently available in Boulder and we may build a third fourth suite as market

demands additional capacity. We expect it to be online and producing commercial proudcts by 2018.

Since Frederick will be new addition to the Boulder manufacturing site and they will be cloning their

engineering processes and models. So getting the right set-up in the new building is an important

step to standardize IT services and support. This is what the Frederick Bouldout is all about - we'll

build an IT server room there with decent power redundancy, cooling and backups. and we'll setup

CS infrasture there as well accommodate the GMP and NASD specific systems, namely, the SCADA

system which Runs the Manufacturing control network, Openlab theAgilent Instrument controllers and

BAS Building automation systems. The problem is NASD is bringing their vendors and contractors to

implement these systems like they used to do at Boulder and bypass IT. So we're still finalizing all IT

requirements with the business and the vendors. Thanks to the SME's in the last few weeks I've

working with them on validation of cost estimates of Frederick Buildout. We're supposed to deploy the

CS infrastructure by 2017.
