Cheesman Canyon is about an hour. The Dream Stream is about an hour and a half. Both are Gold Medal

waters on the South Platte. You can also make the Arkansas west of Canon City in about an hour. There are

several small lakes with decent fishing around Monument and Woodland park, both less than 45 minutes

away. You can also fish the reservoirs on the north side of Pike's Peak or in Eleven Mile Canyon (although

you have to pay to get to those)

Rampart and Skaguay reservoirs are also great spots. Another in-town pond is right off I-25 at Garden of the

Gods Rd. The lakes in town are cetainly close and accessible, but they're not very picturesque. The

Deckers section on the South Platte is another good place. You can also hit the South Platte just west of

Florissant. The South Platte holds lots of Rainbows, and some browns or cutbows in some sections. Most

fish are caught on nymphs. The Arkansas holds mostly browns and a few rainbows. Many fish are taken on

dries.
