Always keep doors and windows closed and locked, even if you are at home. If you have a

screened porch or porch door and you are at home, keep that door locked and ensure that you

are in the room where the door is open.

Carefully screen your "friends" and acquaintances and only allow people into your home that you

can trust. This includes family members.

Never have packages or deliveries made to your home unless you will be present. Have your mail

sent to a PO box and don't get the paper at home.

Leave a radio and television on in your home when you are gone (preferably tuned to a talk radio

station as this will imitate voices). Also, leave a porch light on at night (use a fluorescent or LED
