L1-A Blanket

Process is very well organized. Make sure you avoid getting cell phones and the like. This will save 15 - 30 minutes of your time

(else you will have to wait in a separate line first to store your belongings).

Reach one hour before you allocated time. You will be allowed to go into the first line.

Security checks go through fast.

Make sure your petition document and first page of blanket approval are put together in a neat individual stacks (you would have

3). The primary applications DS-160 should be put along with one of the stacks.

There will be quick finger print verification and then you will be put in line for interview. I had one applicant in front of me. He was

L1B visa applicant. He got rejected as his salary seemed below par (60K).

NOTE: The interviewer is barely audible. I had real hard time listening and responding to him.

Questions for primary applicant

1) How many years of experience do you have in the company?

Answered: XX years.

2) What is your designation?

Answered: Senior ***

3) What is your salary in US?

Answered: Comfortably more than 100K.

4) Where will you be going?

Answered.

5) Where will you work? Where will you stay?

Answered.

6) Who do you report to? Who does he report to?

Answered both. Their location does not match mine. (This seems relevant since it shows I have complete ownership).

7) How many direct reports do you have? Will they have any reports as well?

Answered: Lower single digits. "They have no further reports yet".

Key is to ensure they realize you own significant function within the company.

8)Will your reports have other reporting to them in the future?

Answered: "I haven't decided yet".

Questions for Spouse

1) How long have you been married?

2) Where did you meet?

3) Do you have kids?

4) What is your maximum qualification?

For L1-A, key things need to be

  • High Salary. This shows that you are valuable to the company.

  • Ownership of significant function within the company.

  • Good degree of experience within the company.

  • Some direct reports (I don't think it is a must but it will help your cause).

  • Well known company pref. American will also help your cause.

Within an hour, I was out with approved L1-A Blanket. While I was not asked a lot of questions, everything was from within this

site. Good luck guys.

Questions to my Spouse:

  3. Did you ever apply for studies in US?

  4. Was it love marriage or arranged?

When my spouse said love marriage the officer smiled and said “So it was decided by you then, good!”. And the final words “Sir,

Your VISA status has been approved, happy stay in US”. She handed me over two singed copies of the documents asking me to

keep them safe and submit one copy to my HR and another to the immigration officer when I enter US. We smiled and thanked

her. Greeted her and left the place. The entire process was smooth, short and pleasant.

Hope this experience sharing will help all..I was little easy till few days of the PA Interview date. Things were happening positively

and I was not too serious of situation if it gets rejected.

However, the last week before the PA interview made me nervous and I spent lot of energy to prepare. I googled and read a lot

from online content. I gave demo interviews and recorded myself on my cell fone and corrected where I was going wrong. I had

to travel from Mumbai to Chennai the day before and it made me feel little sick and tensed. Even though, everything happened

comfortably and arrangements was well taken care of by the company, I was little tensed and could feel the creepiness.

I woke up early morning on the day. I got ready and went for biometrics. That happened very quickly. I reached there at 8.30 and

was out by 8.45 a.m. Thereafter, I relaxed and then reached the consulate for PA Interview 15 minutes before the allotted time. I

was carrying a bottle of drinking water and few cosmetics and was asked to leave them outside.

I finally went in and was guided smoothly to counters. Then, had to stand in a long queue for the final interview. My interview

started and I could make out from the second question that the VO was unconvinced,

I think, following were the reasons: I was unsure of how much to explain and froze a little..Though I talked but not so

convincingly. Its a very short time to convince the VO. It also depends on who is the particular VO which shapes up your comfort

level. Body language, and voice expressions matter since that leaves an impression on the VO which may qualify or reject you.
